Happy birthday Minky!!!!

Happy 8th Birthday Minky!!!!

You have been my pride and joy for a year and a half now and I am proud that you own me :)

I have learnt many skills apon your back and I am truely grateful to have a loving bond with you.

Time to anounce the present of choice: a new bride :D
I would have bought Minky a rug but its far too hot to use it... I might buy her one for my birthday :)

and as far as the cake goes well... I will make Minky one for her and her horsie friends but I doubt she will share it!


well anyways I have to go and brush some more of Minky's winter coat out, she looks awful at the moment but hopefully I can make her look pretty for har party next weekend.

My mummy has gon stark raving mad!!!

first it started with mummy getting me on dee float and taking me to see my bestest friend Cheeky, tat must mean dat she was going to take me to vet and then when we got there I fought I had simply got myself into a day of hard work..oh no my horsie friends its much much worse dan dat.

MY STOOPID UMAN PAINTED ME RED!!!!! she got these red tinggys out and started painting me!! what is dis? since when dose hay head get away with dis?

well anyways as I was saying my mummy started to put udder weird tinggys on me like a numba plate and a few sdickers and i didnt like it cos it was all cold and the grey tings in dee sky were crying.

as I imagined it I wood have looked like a complete idiot!

After dat I had to endure a whole hours ride, then mummy had gone to eat her hay.

she soon came back with a present: a new pink and blue head catcher and neck snake to lead me home in :) she said dat I won it coz I was dee best looking pony there (but of course dat was obvious)

den went home and mummy had to clean me cos I was all red but it was still crying from the sky and I wanted to go to sleep but mummy said she had to get dee paint off because she said it was safe but she didnt want be to get a belly ache.

den she dried me and put my rug on and I felt all nice and warm and cuddly.

Den 'esterday mummy got all scaredy coz dee hair on my belly was falling off but den she did sumthingyou umans call "googlee on the compooter" and she said I was ok and dat it was just my big hairy winter coat coming off coz she looked at the patch were dee hair came off and she saw soft and light summer hair.

Seacretly Im still scaredy but dont tell mummy coz she is convinced Im fine: she even got other horsie umans to look at it and they all said I was fine :)

well I has to get off now goz mummy has to do some "googlee" and I has to eat my hay.

What is this...

Well Im glad Minky has started blogging aswell, I didnt think she would write about me eating her however.

Minky was being a really naughty girl the other week so I punished her and said she wasnt aloud and treats for a week, and then I got over it and decided to give her some attention.

Later in the holidays I invited my very good friend Amy over to come see Minky and Grotty and in all the exitement I realised that Minky's birthday is coming up in under a month so Amy and I were organising a party for her so all her horsie friends can come and see her.

And then for V.E.T we have to dress up our horses as something nice so Amy and I when out side to look at Minky so figure out what she should be dressed up as and then I had to mesure her for her costume. (that might have been when Minky thought I was going to eat her!)

so Minky has a buisy two weeks coming up and dont forget to wish Minky a happy birthday next time she writes on the blog. (p.s she's turning 9!!)


And then we come to Grotty, it was early tuesday morning and I had to go feed the horsies.

I put minky's brekky on the ground then I went to put Grotty's brekky on the ground when I noticed that there was a big chunk missing from her chest!!!

Trying not to get to upset I ran inside and told dad, then me and dad bolted outside and put some anti septic on her chest and we called the vet.

The next day the vet came out and cut this flap of skin off her chest and perscibed anti biotics to her, so every day and night I have to inject her with antiboitics so Grotty can get all better.

I must say Grotty is handeling this very well and I feel very sorry for her as it mush hurt alot chek out the wound:

Well im off to give Minky a brush I need to prepare her for dress up day next week

Mummy has gone weird.

OK, dont tell my mummy I did dis but I sneaked on to her blog to tell you that I am really worried about her, she put all deese yummy tings In my dinner and I dont know why because I havn't done anyting good, dee other day she said I was being a baad pony and that I wasnt aloud to have any presents dis week and den she gave me all dees apples and oats and lots of other yummy tings.

mabey she forgived me, or mabey its some evil plan like shes gonna make me all fat and then eat me!!
oh that would be baad, mabey I should ask Grotty if she can help me out of dis one.. she wouldnt help me. I bully her too much, mabey I should ask cousen Cheeky..she will help me.

I cant beleive my mummy wants to eat me, dis is horrible! mabey, if i hide behind a big fat tree she might not notice me.

Wait. I should calm down. My mummy wouldnt really eat me would she?
But I swear she dose, dee other day i sawed her talking to aunty Amy and she was looking at me and talking real quietly so I couldnt hear what she was saying and I swaer she was up to something baad.

you guys have to help me! I cant die now im to sweet and Im just about to reach my peak I will be dee best horsie ever and my mummy will never know because I will be roasted and served with other uman food and eated and oh no!!

Why cant she take Grotty first? I never really liked her. wait! dats it, mummy is trying to get rid of me so she can ave Grotty because she really loves Grotty and not me! :( dats baad.

well I need to think of an escape plan.. I need to get outta here!!

well If I never write on here again you will know why.. and incase she dose eat me I will miss you all and I will mabey start a blog in dee paddock in dee sky one day.

Nice six month holiday

OK well, I have been gone for AGES!!!
there are many reasons why I havent posted in ages and heres a list of them all.

1. I am a lazy shit.
2. It was winter anyway and there was really nothing interesting to write about.
3.I have been baneshed from the computer because dad said i was being a nusence
4. I am a lazy shit.
5. my dad has been nagging on about how im not applying myself at school and I should concertrate on my work.

To be honest none of those excuses are good enough as to why I abandoned this blog for 6 months (exept mabey number 5) but I am truely sorry and I will try and make an effort to post more often.


So what was going on in the last six months you ask? well not much at all to be honest mostly being top dog in V.E.T and perfecting Minky's dressage and such and possibly being a bit of a rat bag at schoolbut other than that its been nothing but rain, rain, crap, rain, bad Minky, good Minky , rain ,rain GET OUT OF GROTTY'S FEED NOW!!, rain ,rain and more freaking rain.

I am officialy half way through V.E.T and its been nothing but sky high percentages in my results however, my school report came back as an opposite so now I have to try extreamly hard if I am to get into university.

Minky has been pure gold the last six months and is now officialy a grade 3 in everything exept x-country but we are pretty much there.

And of course we have had a couple of bad Minky moments but nothing too bad just a couple of falls rears and bucks but she is trying very hard not to be a bad girl, and that's the main thing.

well I have to go and feed her or she will be cranky at me so once again sorry for abandoning the blog and I will be sure to post again soon :)

Im being followed....

I went to see my Minky on Saturday, and I gave her a cuddle and then I went over to Grotty and gave her a cuddle and then I gave Toohey one as well because I'm nice like that, anyhow, I went to go home and Minky followed me to the gate which was cute but then she wouldn't move! so I gave her a smack so I could get out and when I finally did, Minky was stood at the gate neighing for me to come back (I think it was that, it was either that or she was like "oi wheres my food you tard!")so I ignored her and then she came flat stick gallop down the hill neighing and bucking and all sorts!

It was really weird Ive never had that much love in my life! I still think it was about not getting food.

Well what do you know...

So I guess yesterday's x-country didn't go as bad as I expected it to, because I was jumping grade 4 jumps in which I thought I would never do on x-country because Minky was always bunny hopping over the grade fives, Minky did have a stack and a couple of refusals but over all I am happy... see look smiley face ----> :)

One of those days...

I have pony club tomorrow and guess what they have in store for me...jumping, jumping and just a little more jumping! and I know what Minky has in store for me as well refusal, refusal and maybe I might get one jump out of it if I'm lucky, but I'm pretty sure it will be just me going over the jump and not Minky.

I am going to have to work on my position and jumping techniques right away or I'm in for 6 hours or nothing but constructive criticism and "oh well its probably your fault for not riding Minky enough" and that is downright true, so I am going to have to get Minky over some jumps and work from there.

besides I do enjoy learning my mistakes and getting advise from my teachers, that's how I become a better rider, its just when I go to pony club after practicing what the teachers told me, I only get the same information as the month before, so therefore I must not have done whatever it is properly.

I will start from scratch and go over ground poles and slowly build up my confidence....again!

I have also realised that, after I fell off and hurt myself that time when I did my jumping competition I must of had a confidence knock that has effected both Minky and I, because I haven't had the guts to do my four tyre jump ever since, and Minky will be lucky to jump anything full stop.

well I guess its back to the arena with me, and lots of advice will be needed to get me back on track whether I like it or not.

Just plain cool.

Minky has lost a ton of weight yesterday after I rode her 10 kilometers over to my friend Monique's house! how cool is that.

I also had a ride on maverick as well and all was going well until he decided to go all bucking broncho on me! he must of gotten bitten by a march fly or something because he was being a right turd.

I had my V.E.T course today which was fun... take a wild guess at what one of my gradings is on, I have to walk, trot and canter around an arena and I get graded on it! how awesome!

So Minky will have to get prepared for that because she keeps doing her weird retarded bunny hops on the jumps (the V.E.T people also going to look at that)

R.I.P Willow

I have some really bad news for everyone, my cat Willow has just been found on the side of the road dead!

I have had the worst day in history before hand only to come home to find my poor little Willow has passed to the other side.

I haven't had willow that long, but whilst she was here, she made everyone really happy and I was so proud to call myself her owner.

So with that, lets all say good bye to our good pal, Willow.

Day from hell.

Ok horsie frienz, I have got some bad news for you all, well actually it might not affect you at all but thousands of Australians will be in grief once this day is done I can assure you.

The past few days have been record temperatures peaking 110 degrees and above, and some screwed up retards have decided to torch the main areas of my home state and the sweet little garden state of Victoria is literally in flames!!!

The death toll has reached over 60 people and over 700 homes have been destroyed
including 5 entire families, 10 people in their cars and many more that where unable to escape the wrath of these unstoppable fires.

My father is on call right now, as a member of the Bunninyong fire brigade and he is trying his hardest to help stop the blaze.

I am right royally pissed off at these inferno bugs because little do they realise, but they have murdered nearly 100 people! I reckon that they should have gone up in flames too :(

In further news, I go my tooth fixed! when I was in grade 5, I ran into a pole and snapped half of my front tooth snapped off.

Six years later I got a cap...yay! I will place picture updates on the blog soon.

First day back.

Grrrr :( Stoopid school, well Stoopid timetable more like it, i am one of the only year 10's that has free study classes because of my vet subject however, I haven't been introduced to my vet subject yet so I have 5 classes this week where I have bugger all to do! how rare is that!!! well I guess I will have to read my twilight saga again yay!!!!!!!!

Because of the heat, I have decided to ditch pony club this week but the problem is, that it wasn't actually hot that day and by the time I figured that out, I didn't have time to organise so I just had another day to myself.

Minky doesn't like the heat, poor girl! I might give her a bath tomorrow, she will like that.

Anyway, I haven't been up to much so I guess I have nothing else to post unless, you want to hear about me and my twilight obsessed friends (and trust me you don't want to hear about that, because its doing my head in just thinking about it)

Oh joy...back to school for me :(

I was minding my own business(reading one of the books from the twilight saga of course) when all of a sudden it hit me like a truck...I have to go back to school on Monday!!!! not cool, not cool, not cool I have to get my books ready :( I have to dig my school bag out from my bedroom closet! one day, one of the Shetlands from next door went into my closet to see if the legends of the killer Shetlands where true, and he never returned :$ well that's what dad told me... I hope I will be able to get out of my closet before pony club... on that thought, maybe I should just take my books in case I get stuck.

Anyhow, I have to get my school things ready by Sunday so that I can enjoy the last of my holidays before school starts, in which will be barely enjoyable because its literally over a hundred degrees out here!


well I'm going to read my book, if I don't post within a week, its because I have died on the couch due to the heat or I have gotten stuck in my closet with the killer Shetland and the killer school bag, but don't worry too much I will just feed the killer Shetland a rotten apple from the killer school bag, and then maybe he might leave me alone.

Omg I am sorry, I just ignored you all again :$ not cool, but this time I have a good excuse, really I do.
So it all started out when I opened my presents on my birthday, (You wouldn't believe what I got) I got the Twilight soundtrack, a couple of console games and... the Twilight book set!!!!! omg omg omg!!! :)

So for the past few days, I have done nothing but read and read and read some more and its still not enough :( I'm only half way through the second one having received the books only less than 72 hours ago :( lol

Aside from that, I really have been a lazy blob enjoying my holidays making silly meaningless projects like finding as many words as I can that don't have vowels in them whilst finding out what those words mean, I also lunged Minky yesterday, well I attempted to anyway, at least before she started being naughty and dad had to come out and make her be good (much to my embarrassment in less than 2 minutes)

Well I guess I'm off to read again, That book had given me every emotion possible whilst reading it, I actually started crying yesterday at a very crucial stage in the second book, if any of you have gotten to that stage yet, then you will know what I was crying about, but if you haven't read the books yet, then I suggest that you do because there really good.

Anyhow, I am going to go and read and I will probably start crying again but its all good, you will get used to my book reviews being like that, I really am one of the biggest sooks in the whole wide world.

And If you don't hear from me in more that a week at a time, I'm probably just being lazy, so please do me a favour and grumble at dad to grumble at me to do my blog, if that made sense at all.

My not quite birthday party, party.

I tried something new this weekend, I rode through the dam!
unfortunately Minky was being naughty so my ride on her was cut short and I had to put her away, but on the bright side I got to ride through the dam on my friends horse Mav.

The thing with Mav is before this weekend, Mav wouldn't go ten meters near a puddle even if there where a truck full of carrots waiting on the other side for him, so that was a big effort for our friend Maverick.

The first five minutes or so, the horses where getting all antsy, and wouldn't do anything right, and then Minky went in, and she was being really good until grotty had to go and neigh out at Minky, and then Minky wouldn't do anything if her life depended on it!

so after a while I just made sure that Minky would at least walk forward a few steps for me, and then I got off and had a shot at riding Mav.

Yes, yes its all true I am now able to enjoy my acrobatic dismounts with the company of my new jumping vest!

I have had some great dismounts during the year of 2008, but no longer shall I fear those dreaded pony club nurses anymore, all I have to fear now is the social battering I am going to receive when I am the only one that comes cantering up to my group looking like a pink obsessed five year old.

There I was on Christmas morning, unwrapping my presents, and as I got to the last one, I was almost struck with disappointment thinking that I wasn't going to get my jumping vest, until I unwrapped it to find myself struck with embarrassment!

As much as I was forever grateful for all my gifts, I knew that I had a long and hard year ahead, and it was going to be full of laughter and teasing.

My lovely new jumping vest was double thickness, protection guaranteed and don't forget the lovely PINK and PURPLE coloured finish!

My pony club colours are navy blue and light blue except for the odd saddle rug or a kid wearing a different coloured sweater, but no one is going to loose me, they will be like "oh wheres Katie gone to?" and then another person will be like "oh you mean that one over there in the pink and purple jumping vest?"
"yeah, that one"

The main thing is this however, I am really grateful for everything I have received, and my jumping vest will keep me free from all harm physically, but mentally I think I am screwed. for life.

other than that, my riding lesson on Monday was great! I had Minky on the bit again this time on trot, and believe it or not, but my teacher Karen had Minky doing what I thought was the beginning of some really nice half passes! so Minky gets a bunch of carrots again, and I am one extremely happy rider.

The festive season has delayed me once again...

Well actually, no I don't have an excuse for not posting for a week, but one day I went to the cinema to watch Twilight and I got totally obsessed and with that, I went on a complete obsessive rampage demanding to go and see it again, changed my my space to a Twilight theme and now if you speak one word to me, I will change it around completely so that it has some thing to to with Edward Cullen (main character) or the movie Twilight.

Twilight was originally a book trilogy about Isabella Swan (another main character) falling in love with Edward Cullen, nothing wrong with that except for the fact that Edward has a secret... he is a vampire!

In order to protect his identity and his thirst for Bella's blood, Edward tries to avoid contact with Bella, but because Edward is so caught up in trying to get away from her, he gets caught under her spell and falls in love with her (aw)

Edward, being a vampire and all, realises that he is a danger to Bella and once more, tries to avoid her but when Bella finds her self in grave danger, it is up to Edward to save her...

I think that I have given away alot of the first story, so I will leave it up to you guys to find out the rest of the story, if you haven't done so already.

Merry christmas everyone!!!

So I opened my pressies this morning and guess what Santa got me...
A fondue set! a tad random but what ever its chocolate! and its yum so I was happy.
I also got a protection vest for jumping (which is well needed after last pony club's event) and I got a new pair of converse (thank goodness!)

But enough about my pressies, guess what Minky got... A packet of minties! I think minky will be happy with me.

Anyhow, merry Christmas everyone! I hope you all get very nice presents.

Minky's little acheivement.

I had my riding lesson on Minky last night, and I finally got Minky to do something really special...

It has been about six months now since I started my riding lessons, and when I first started doing them, Minky was a mess! she would pull, stop, back up and spook at almost every thing!
(but now Minky doesn't do any of that)

What I'm so happy about is for the last six weeks, I have been training Minky to go on the bit and stay on the bit, and last night without any fuss, Minky slowly turned her nose in and went on the bit for a whole lap without me even having to asking!

By the end of the lesson Minky looked like she had jumped in the dam because she was saturated in sweat...my poor baby :(

I am so proud of my Minky that she will have to expect a few more pressies under the tree this year!

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who put in the effort to give me a well done for my school award, I felt that it was a really big achievement and I am happy that I got your support in that.

I am really grateful for all the nice comments you guys leave and I am also very happy with the feed back I'm getting from this blog because that means your giving me room to improve on my grammar, content etc.

And one more note, I will get that Toohey video to you guys as soon as possible or at least when Toohey starts muttering again! I think Toohey has picked up that I am trying to post a video of him muttering, and he has stopped doing it!!! I will catch him one day....

Oh cripes...

I'm falling into Dads habits again and I am forgetting to post things on my blog (don't tell dad I said that)

However at the moment there is hardly anything to post because I have had a horse free week, but that is not an excuse so I am sorry :)

If you do want some interesting but completely stupid information, The Australian Government is looking into banning showjumping and cross country over here because it's too dangerous for the horses and the riders.

I think that's a load of horse feathers because riding a horse in general is dangerous, so what dose a silly little jump change? if a horse wants to be naughty it will, and that is something that us riders are happy to deal with because it all comes in the package of wanting to ride a horse anyway... besides the government wont ban it, because our government doesn't live up to any thing they promise, because they are a bunch of sooks.

Anyhow, enough grumbling, because I have the quote of the week!
I used it in front of my dad and he nearly spat his coffee out it was that funny... here goes "Dad they're just like a show bag, inside they're full of crap"

Oops I did it again...

Last nights riding lesson was fun, I fell off Minky again!

I said to my riding teacher that I had a reasonably bad fall and that I wanted to do jumping for my lesson so that I didn't loose any confidence, which is all well and good except Minky decided to act like a spack head, and refuse a jump.

I was still a little nervy from falling off the day before, so I wasn't planning to mess around.
So with that I gave Minky a hard kick, and Minky decides to do a gigantic bunny hop over the fence and I slid off the saddle and landed flat on my bottom.

Luckily I didn't get hurt and I continued on with my lesson, and I continued to jump until the lesson ended.

The main thing was, that I took some time to rebuild my confidence and even though I got hurt on Sunday, I was going to ride, whether I was in pain or not.

My day at pony club.

Well, yesterday was a test of my patience!
So, there I am lying in my bed, when I just remembered that I had to get out of bed at 5AM to wash Minky for the the gymkhana, however that didn't happen because when these thoughts where going through my mind, I didn't realise that it was 7:30AM! (cripes!)

I rushed out of bed and threw my tack in to the car, only to realise that I had forgotten my saddle blanket, so I ran inside and found that the dryer had spun out and all my blankets where still wet! so after that I had to put the dryer on super speed dry.

At this point I am already peed off so then I thought a nice wash would calm me down... correct, not going to happen, because the pump from the tanks had died!

I had officially cracked it, I threw the half dried blankets in the car and Daddy, Minky and I, finally made it out the gate.

We had gotten half way to pony club, and you guessed it, the float tyre had popped!
I was sat in the car thinking that this day couldn't get any worse however, Minky had handled the situation really well so we were gone with in half an hour of the tyre popping.

I was so late for pony club that when I got there, I quickly off loaded Minky, threw her saddle on, and cantered up to my first event, not knowing it wasn't even my event!

Then after about five minutes, the speaker called my jumping event, and finally I thought I had a good chance of turning the day around.

I had a five minute practice, and then I was called up for my round, I was so exited that I forgot the 45 second starting rule, and took about 3 seconds before I went over my first pole, I was almost galloping over some of them, because I was trying to get as much of the course done as I could.

As I was coming up to my last pole, Minky decides that she wont be going over it, but I on the other hand would be! Minky screeches to a halt jumps backwards and spins around to head for the gate, I did some retarded dive on to the sand, scraping my side on the way down!

I was in a lot of pain, I thought I might of broken something! however after the shock had worn off I realise that is was just a scrape and that I was just being a sook.

The pain had eventually worn off enough for me to stop crying, when all of a sudden the stupid nurse lady had sprayed dis infectant on it, and then the pain was worse that when i had fallen off!

I was mostly concerned about not getting a place on the showjumping, because I actually did a really good job, but it had turned out that I came 4th out of 16 riders and I got a ribbon and to top that off I got another one for a consolation prize, and i got 2 certificates for doing two pony club gradings!

So the day from hell was actually really good, except now I have a really sore side!

I had nothing interesting to post because my week has been just crap, but we will not go there because its already been posted on dads blog, and to quite honest, i am completely over it.
I will get the video of Toothy soon i promise...my dad hasn't reminded me to do it and I keep forgetting :(
However aside from the crap week, I got an A+ in English this week! (just don't ask me what I did to get it, unless you want me to post my speech about cleaning your toilet and your cat at the same time)
And I will try to remember not to forget my blog again :)

Toohey has been teaching the other horses to mutter.

I am getting the horsies dinner ready, when I hear what I thought was Toohey chatting away to himself, but no... All three of the horses where at it!

For crying out loud i thought Toohey was too much... I honestly have to video it and post it on here for you guys to see, its just too funny not to witness ...now all I have to do is convince dad to let me use his good camera so i can video it ;)

Anyhow, my weird IT teacher has made me make a second blog so that he has a diverse range of work to assess me on, if you would like to take a little peak of this new one, its under links and its the one that says "what gets my goat"
i personally think that that will only be a temporary blog, so its a limited time offer.

Again edtiory input is much appreciated because unlike my dad, i am not 45 years old, and i am dependant on your input...if there is anything that you think i might need to juice up my blog, then i am all ears, fire away! Just some random thing that I thought was convenient to post.

Minky has been speaking to bazz...

Yesterdays riding lesson was a little interesting, so there I am on Minky trotting down the arena and all of a sudden Minky jumps to a halt!
Well after she stops she puts on a wonderful display of backing up, spooking and pig rooting...PIG ROOTING!

After that she got some stern words (and kicks) from me.
She behaved her self after a while which is all very good because her old mum came to see how she was going, and saw Minky's display! however Minky's mum was ok with how Minky was going, she said that it would have been the worst she will ever get, and really she wasn't even being that naughty (she has a point because the last time I got on Nobby no nuts, he bucked me, I got off and then he reared up and galloped off back home!) so Minky surely can't be any worse than what I have already experienced.

Anyhow, I'm off school to day because I'm sick :(
I was feeling fine yesterday, but now i feel like a bag of horse poo!
Oh well...leaves me more time to improve my blog :)

Some thing i gotta do.

Now as we all know, this website its also a school assessment and I need that thing down at the bottom of the post "it says how was this post"

Cold days, late assignments and nasty penguin jokes.

So the weather has gotten so bad I'm putting rugs on Minky and friends, but those horses are not helping it by standing in the only part of the paddock that isn't protected.

Anyhow, i have to stay inside all weekend and do an assignment that's over due (my bad! )
and if i don't finish it dad will bring Bazz home so he can hoof me personally!
(so id better get to it!)

And on a last note, yes i did read dads joke and it was in the middle of IT class when everyone was completely silent and at first i didn't get it, and then when i least expected it it hit me like a truck and i burst out laughing...I got the evil stare from the whole class (including the teacher)

Rain, rain, and a little more rain

The last week has been nothing but wet, miserable, cold and annoying rain.
I cant ride because is too slippy and poor old Minky fell on her backside because she ran up to the fence so fast that she had to do an emergency break and failed and on top of all that... ITS SPRING! it meant to be getting warmer not colder!

On the bright side, I can watch Minky do stupid things in the paddock and have more time to blog about it ;)

Photography project #2

Yes, I know its only a matter of time before you guys ask me for a photo of Minky with the photo shop effect, so here you go, its Minky after dad has given her a can of coke...

Actually that's Minky after you have given her anything to eat :)

Also you need to sing the happy birthday song today, because this is the day that Minky officially turns 7 years old.

Attack of the killer Shetlands!!

I had a photography project at school today, and I had to liquefy some images, I did mine on killer Shetlands!

Take a look... there just hilarious.



They will trap you in your paddock and you will be stuck there forever!

Toohey and his nice summer coat.

Its Toohey the lovely pony that doesn't look like a woolly mammoth.

(well, I still think he looks like a woolly mammoth )

Although Toohey may look nice, the 22 killer Shetlands in the back paddock still look like a tribe of 22 killer yetis!

Besides I have to brush Toohey's coat because whenever I go to pat him, I would have a fuzz blob in the palm of my hand (giggles)

If I remember correctly I think it was Kathy that wanted that pic of Toohey, so here you go Kathy, here he is, its Toothy!

Cats in space!

My poor old cat!

Well I have a story for you, last Friday my kitten Willow, got fixed (if you know what I mean) and she was very upset about it.

That night, I opened the back door to say goodnight to the horsies as usual, and Willow runs out of the house!

When we managed to get her back the next day, we realised that she had pulled all of her stitches out, and that all her insides where hanging out (er yuk!)

So she ended up going back to the vet and getting fixed up again, which riped another hundred bucks out of Dads pocket!

When Willow got home, she was not happy! Willow had one of those plastic neck things to stop her from pulling her stitches out and the had to spend ALL week in the laundry... My poor baby :(

And my pander mined Dad couldn't help himself, He kept saying that willow was from space because of her helmet and my brother Charlie was teasing her as well.

Well at least I didn't tease her... I gave her lots of cuddles because I'm nice :)

Dad took her space helmet off at the weekend, so here she is now, not looking spaced out anymore :)

Oh, and on one last note, I never ended up riding through the dam the other day, it was far too hot ! I would of melted into a pile of yukky, sticky goop. (that does not sound good at all)

Anyways, I'm going now, Dad will probably want to get on the computer and make a post of his own.

She came and she left

Time to say goodbye to hummi already !

Well here goes... I had two horses in a paddock and i had to choose one of them, one being a total pig, never doing as I say, not forward only 14.2hh and is a novice at jumping, the other I have only had for 4 days, is well behaved, 15.1hh, nice conformation, etc...

I ended up keeping minky because she is the challenge I need, I know all of the tricks up her sleeve, I know how to control her (mostly) and the main thing is I am attached to my horse! and to be honest I really was not that interested in hummi because it just wasn't meant to be. :( and I cant end this blog now, I'm only just getting fired up!)

But on a better note i am thinking of riding minky through the dam tonight which should be fun.

Paddock footy round #2

Oh, and now that the new mare is here, the game of paddock footy has turned into a three way game.

Minky herds toohey to grotty who herds toohey to hummy, who herds toohey back to grotty who herds toohey back to minky and so on.

Mean old mares... just because toohey is the only gelding in the paddock, toohey is also probably the smallest gelding in all of Yendon. However, he is probably the finest little gelding I've ever seen for sure :)

A new friend

So I might have to change the name of this blog already...my dad has decided that I need to get a new horse and that I need another level up from minky.

I'm not at all sure what to do about this mare because she seems to be a lot like minky to me, although she is really nice and she is a bit more affectionate.

I like her but at the moment I am more favouring minky but that's because minky is my baby :)


However, I have to give this new one ago because it wouldn't be fair on her to not give her a chance because she does look like a very lovely horse.

And it looks like she will be around for a while because daddy says that if I don't want her, that he is tempted to buy her for himself because she is such a sweety.

I have a riding lesson tonight, and if she goes well I will be left with a lot to think about. so, with that may I please introduce you to my new friend, Humming Bird.

Paddock footy

How mean is Minky!!!

So, my Dad is getting dinner ready for the horsies when he tells me that they are going to play paddock footy... at this point I am sure my Dad has finally lost the plot,but then I realise what he is talking about.

Dad puts Minky's food on the ground, and he puts Grotty's food on the ground about two meters away from Minky's.... Dads like "watch this Katie"... and I'm looking at my Dad still convinced that he is off his nut, and then Dad puts Tooheys hay right between Minky's and Grotty's dinner.
Well, Minky and Grotty are there munching away on there dinner whilst Toohey is trying to get to his hay.

Toohey takes one step towards his hay and then Minky herds Toohey towards Grotty, then grotty herds Toohey towards Minky,and then Minky herds Toohey towards Grotty, and then... correct grotty herds poor old Toohey towards Minky and this cycle continues on for about ten minutes until Grotty and Minky give up , and let Toohey eat his hay.

Another day at pony club.

So here I am trotting up to a log in cross country and ..... correct no jumptake two.... no jump and so on. so my teacher is there going "give her a kick.. show her who's boss" and I'm like oh yer ok, I give Minky a kick and Minky does this gigantic bunny hop jump over a ground log and I almost find myself sat in the mud .. but I make a save and I stayed on ok.

How I managed to stay in the saddle seems like a miracle to me however Minky seemed happy with the jump because in the next class when I had show jumping, she cleared the round in 25 seconds and got the time record for the day!
